Posthumous GM FIDE Title For Sultan Khan

I am slowly reading Danny King's excellent new NIC book On Sultan Khan. I understand from page 367 that Vishy Anand has a similar book project nearing completion.
I gather Danny King has raised the question of a Fide posthumous GM title for Sultan Khan. Maybe the good and the great such as ECF officials and Nick Faulks should progress this, when the time is right !

FIDE are not in the business of awarding posthumous titles, it appears.
Sultan Khan is still an odd one though, as he would surely have got something in the original 1950s lists had it been known he was still alive.

Correct. There is certainly no appetite for dealing with the deluge of applications ( and in the current climate even lawsuits ) that would follow any such precedent.

Here's a picture of Sultan Khan from 1932, featuring the future Rowena Bruce. Her board is smaller than the others - not because she was a child - but because she had brought her own to be autographed.
Danny King reveals it is now owned by Garry Kasparov!

A "Hall of Fame" might be the way to go about honouring the heroes of the past.

Possibly, but even then there would be poisonous rows about who went into it and who didn't.
These were the arguments which sank the admirable concept of an "Elite Grand Master" title to which 2700+ level players might aspire.

Apparently:
"From 1977 until 2003, FIDE awarded Honorary Grandmaster titles to 31 strong players based on their past successes and other contributions to chess."
Rudolf Maric was made an Honorary Grandmaster after he passed away.

I've posted on Chessbase I think the whole thing is a publicity stunt to boost the sales of Danny's book. (a stunt I agree with BTW)
But that member of the Khan family wants the book recalled.
I'm off back there to post to post a solution: Give Danny King's G.M. title to Sultan Khan.

But the decision to award it had apparently been made before that happened, something not really applicable in this case.

Did mir Sultan Khan support Brentford by chance?
