England was represented by Zhou Yang-Fan, Akash Jain, Saravanan Sathyanandha and Sam Walker. The team was seeded 9th out of 22 and finished with 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses. Yang-Fan Zhou was the star of the England team scoring 6/10 on board 1 and qualifying for his FM title after winning in round 9. Akash scored 5 whilst Saravanan & Sam both finished with 4.

Stewart Haslinger finished 2nd= with Jovica Radovanovic on 3.5/5, half a point behind the winner GM Piotr Bobras from Poland. The grading prizes were won by Brandon Clarke, Roger Williamson and Ian Heppell. Somewhat bizarrely, there were only 8 players in the tournament and 7 won prizes!

Gawain bounced back from a surprise loss in round 2 to Mike Steadman to win outright with 7.5/9 after winning his last round with black against IM Stephen Soloman who was half behind going into the last round. Gawain's tournament performance was 2581. My thanks to him for providing daily updates on msn due to the total lack of activity on the tournament website. I'm hopeful they will update the site once the tournament has finished.
