I don't think they were part of a formal competition but there have been a couple of recent games on chess.com between Kramnik and Hans. In the first, Kramnik lost as white in a mainline Berlin. In a rematch with Hans white, the game commenced 1. e4 f6 2. d4 g5 whereupon Hans resigned.

Tell me if I'm wrong but I'd infer from this that something in game one upset Kramnik, leading him to play the two moves he did in the second game, whereupon Niemann - rather than take the offered mate - in turn demonstrated his displeasure by resigning,

Well if he did play something to upset Kramnik in the first game I can't see what it was apart from the sheer effrontery of Niemann winning with the Berlin. Looked like just a normal blitz game with Kramnik holding a difficult ending till he buckled with 46 Nf3?? but here's the game if anyone wants to check it out:

Another Berlin, although this time Hans was white. Nakamura used the Kd8-c8-b7 plan instead of Kd8-e8 as used by Hans and many other players.

Playing chess online is not about winning or losing. it is believing you would have won had the other player not cheated.
