Impressive indeed!
The race is on to become our next GM-will it be Jonah or Harry Grieve or Matthew Wadsworth or perhaps Alex Golding? Or a certain youngster from Battersea CC?

Happy Christmas to all-nice to see the potential shining again-especially after our very good year in the Seniors events worldwide -capped by our Over 50s Team Champions and by John Nunn' being crowned the latest FIDE World Over 65 World Champion!

Am I correct in thinking that despite this excellent result, Jonah didn't achieve a GM norm?

After his mediocre start, no chance. Great second half though.

HIs average opponent after discounting the win against the lowest rated and rounding up the next lowest to 2200 was around 2429. Had it been 2433.5 it would have been a GM norm.
