So, 11 rounds at one round a day starting tomorrow at 15:00 which I assume is CET and 14:00 UK time?

Also, no regular ENG team members but quite a few young and improving ENG players. I wonder, is the ECF supporting their participation (I hope so)?

Chess results showing

1 191 433 Cox Tristan A 1975 1-0 GM Neverov Valeriy 2414 191

If true, HUGE upset victory for the unknown English amateur.

Wins also for Grieve, Royal and Wadsworth

He used to play quite a bit twenty years ago. I might have claimed playing a theoretical novelty in the Tromp against him although it wasn't because a Dutch player got the credit for an earlier game and a mention in Peter Wells's book. He said in the post mortem that Danny Gormally was his trainer and that he had been told I might play the Tromp.

Hardly unknown maybe, but still impressive and noteworthy.

All five English IMs move up to the show boards to meet 2600+ opposition.

Scroll down to the final quarter of games and you will find it. Deserved victory, the GM is outplayed.
