I don't think he was spotted in Manchester yet, but I thought it was Eljanov looking for a base here?

Tops Sadler too in the ECF list, should Sadler ever go active again.

The unknowns at the moment are why he wanted to be registered as ENG and how he satisfied the ECF's criteria for doing so (assuming they apply to transfers as well as initial registrations)?

Well, most likely he will be seen as a welcome addition I would imagine.

Even if he continues to live in Spain, assuming he still does, and never fulfils the eligibility criteria for playing in the British Championship?

In the upper echelons most probably, I would have thought.

Very pleased to remind myself about his stance on the invasion of Ukraine As to being new England number one - at 36 now, he is not going to be England's greatest ever - Adams has been world No. 4, with a peak Elo rating of 2761 (cf Vitiugov world 15, Elo 2751).

Still a chance to play Adams in a simul in October!
