And Ravi Haria comes in on Board 4 in place of Luke McShane. A big test for Ravi.

I'm actually going to be wearing my Yorkshire chess jumper while watching the matches today... annoyed to see Haria playing over McShane...

Unless Luke is unwell, it is a "brave" call.

I believe that's the reason and he's not the only England player that has been unwell.

That's a shame.

Presumably not the risotto again?

The lack of repetitions made me suspect it was just a DGT glitch.

There have been a few of those around. I was a bit worried that both teams had been hit by illness or something, but glad to see it was a false alarm!

Predke-Vitiugov was a draw in 25 moves.

Could you update frustrated would-be chess 24 users on the other boards?

Adams drew. David is a pawn up but I'm expecting a draw. Board 4 appears beyond salvation sadly, a pawn down and black has activity, better pieces etc The games are on LiChess if you want to catch the end.

Reconnected now. Looks like we are paying a price for Luke's illness, unfortunately.

Serbia was actually the best team we beat in the Olympiad last year (I think, as ever). I still wonder whether they finished higher than us. Obviously a tougher outfit than their ratings suggest.
