This annual event starts on the 26th January. Regrettably the English presence is very limited in terms of titled players although GMs Mickey Adams and Jon Speelman as well as IM Jovanka Houska are competing. The prize structure has again ensured that a lot of the world's strongest women players are competing. Mickey Adams is currently joint leader on 5.5/7. Jon Speelman is on 5 whilst Jovanka, Terry Chapman, Alan Byron and David Collier on 4. Congratulations to Philip Tozer who defeated GM Ketevan Arakhamia with black in round 5.
