Funny. That did get me wondering how many times you have a norm seeker getting a norm at such an event, and then a while later agreeing to be the GM or IM in a norm-seeking event. The two that immediately come to mind are Ravi Haria getting his second GM norm in 2021 and then playing as a GM in 2022. I can think of a Norwegian chap... The first time I played at Gausdal (and possibly the second as well), a lad called Magnus was aiming for norms. Then he became a GM, and it was assumed he would not play again, but no, he volunteered to turn up again and didn't demand a massive fee.
