Surely experience says that the job description for captaining any team with John in it includes a standing requirement to "forcibly escort him to the board before the game"...? (and probably confiscate his mobile as well for extra security)

Seems like the haul for today will be two draws (Dorrington, Palliser) and 16 defeats. It looked much more promising than that 90 minutes into the session.

Yes. The one that really got away was Chapman v Efimenko. Up to move 30, Terry had quite outplayed his illustrative opponent and instead of the tempting 29 e6, he could have been two pawns up for nothing with 29 Qxb5 Nxb5 30 Nxc4 (which is immune, and threatens Nb6, and so on).

Ezra Kirk also let a good position slip away for Jutes of Kent. Excellent draw for Chris Dorrington and some quite prophetic stuff from Ben earlier in this thread!
