Mickey Adams playing in Dortmund:

Are any of the other England Olympiad players in action anywhere?

Kramnik has drawn two totally won positions (even I would be embarrassed at missing fxg7+ and then Qf4, as in his last game against tournament minnow Baramidze) after losing horribly to Meier in the first round. It is not good at all to see him like this :(

Is there a problem with the website, as the Adams game seems to have been stuck for the last hour ?

It's working again now. Caruana first game to finish and he has won.

Caruana up to 2797.5 in the live ratings. If he gets to 2800 in the August list, will that be the rating used at the Olympiad, or are the July ratings being used there?

It must be infectious:

http://en.chessbase.com/post/dortmund-r ... s-his-rout

"[Adams'] efforts paid off as the Ukrainian was quite lost after a blunder on move 32, but the Englishman was unable to find the coup-de-grâce, and blundered back his winning advantage for a disappointing draw."

The blunder back appears to have been move 36. Pity.

Caruana V. Adams today. Ruy Lopez, probably a draw.

Adams won in final round. Caruana drew. Kramnik lost and is now low down in the ratings list.
