Excellent run of results for Peter Roberson. We'll just have to overlook his losing with Black to Caruana, I guess :P

Is there any chance that an English team will play a Scottish team on referendum today tomorrow?!

Then repaired - at various times its looked like they're still playing with basic layout of the site at times, which is a tiny bit odd. Definitely unfished when the tournament started of course.

Anyone know if the very early pawn loss in Carunna - Mamedyarov was known theory or just some sort of nasty accident?

It's been played before, alternatives being Bd7 and Qd6. I would have thought Black gets activity as compensation for the pawn and an opportunity to steer for a drawish pawn structure.

Whether enough activity or a sufficiently drawish structure is being tested by the game. Alekhine played Bd7 against Samisch back in 1921, so he didn't trust the sacrifice.
