Astonishing - Mickey is still a danger to anyone at fast time controls.

I'm going to predicted Nakamura is completely on tilt after that result and will lose badly in the second game.

So Nakamura getting back into it may not be entirely to Adams' liking.

Nepo currently the lowest-seeded player still in the competition. Incidentally for all it may seem as if the Russians are doing well, the only top-eight players out so far are the two leading Russians.

very cool final game from Adams. Don't know how he won the previous game but having got his break, he held on to it very firmly.

Topalov/Svidler v Ding Liren/Wei Yi
Giri/Wojtaszek v So/MVL

Nakamura/Adams v Eljanov/Jakovenko
Caruana/Mamedyarov v Andreikin/Karjakin

Eljanov has scored 6/6 so far

Jakovenko reaches the Candidates if he or Caruana or Nakamura reach the final of the WC

Kramnik now needs Giri or Topalov to reach the final
