About normal by football standards
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Kevin what are you thinking of,,, chess, not even FIDE , needs Maxwellisation? Maxwellisation allows those who disagree with what a draft, of national importance, says about them to cause major delay arguably against the national interest...just think about how this might be used by Directors or eight year olds.

But still, the FIDE Ethics Commission is relatively speedy - a year and a bit for a decision (plus a further two months to decide the punishment) against, what, decades for Chilcot?

Let's not be so pessimistic. The situation has changed with the suspension of Platini.

Several newspaper pundits have supported the IOC call for the new head of FIFA to be somebody from outside the organisation.
Ilyumzhinov has the ideal track record for the job.

Let's all get behind the Kirsan for President of FIFA campaign as the ideal exit strategy.

Just another publicity stunt to promote himself and to some extent chess, I fear.

You'll have noted that Blatter is accused of handing a sum of money to Platini without proper documentation to support it - in 2011, the same year as events in Sheffield...

I guess he will sign for Slade prison on a free transfer.

But what will he do now that Norman Stanley Fletcher is no longer with us?
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

Outside of FIDE, there are no apparent sightings of the FIFA bid, so presumably with the deadline for nominations looming, it was all just a fantasy or publicity stunt.

Were it to be serious, his record as a Kalmykia President might again come under scrutiny.

Needless to say, the FIDE President is not among the names being nominated for FIFA President.

Applications must be submitted by Monday night when candidates will undergo a so-called “integrity check”.
