Re: 2016 Olympiad - Baku
yep - let's not get excited - top10 is fine.
The commetators just discussed the Japan incident said it was ipad and iphone - but no chess software ... arbiters decision to default (no device allowed in the playing area) but not to evict from event. Tough luck indeed for the individual ... but really no reason to bring anythign from the hotel room surely?

Top ten would really be rather good. Competitive world out there, and time is running against England as well.
I think the match is quite level at the moment and 2-2 the most likely bet, though it could be four draws or there might be a decisive result each.
I know Stockfish doesn't like Gawain's position, but to this human it doesn't look that bad, and there is a lot of play to come.

Luke's position look very pleasant to play - I guess things will be decided by the time-control but right now I'd rather be in our shoes, especially since Giri has lost his edge and is even getting low on the clock (if the times can be believed)!

The human is learning. It's very much an ongoing process.Jonathan Rogers wrote: I know Stockfish doesn't like Gawain's position, but to this human it doesn't look that bad ...

Better if it had stayed frozen. Adams/Giri have repeated for a draw, Gawain is seemingly losing, Howell and McShane a little worse than before the freeze. 1.5-2.5, anyone?

Another Black draw from Carlsen; Stockfish thinks that Smerdon shouldn't have hurried to force a perpetual.

If Stockfish thinks that Bok's 44 Be6 is a bad move, one dreads to think what the board would look like after a good move ...

Russia look like going down to Ukraine, in a match with three Black wins. "Nothing against Tomashevsky" but board 2 for Russia?
