Better hope for a recovery on the remaining boards or we are looking at the worst result in England's Olympiad history. So, c'mon Luke, Gawain and Nigel.

Why were the board orders changed around? We might not even win the match now.

Are we really sure about colours? Has anyone seen live pictures? Otherwise send for Hawkins!

The final submission of board orders was last night. The original team lists on the web site were no more than a list of team members. There, I've saved Roger the job of pointing this out.

Well the official pairings has England as White on odd - so while I'd hope for an error (and it seems strange for Gawain to play the Scotch 4 knights as White against someone 400 points below him ...) I'm worried England are going down. Hopefully i'm wrong

What are the candidates for worst England results in an Olympiad before 2016?

Let's make sure that the colours are right before we go down this route. I find it hard to believe that Howell and McShane have played as badly as this.

Has anybody seen pictures to confirm that we are actually looking at the right games? I quickly scanned through commentary and didn't see anything - I would have thought if this was really happening the commentators would be paying some attention to it.

The loss to India in 1988 would be up there.

Have the organizers been watching James Bond movies or something. On Chess 24, they said players can't bring their pen to the board, in case it has a camera or microphone, you can't bring your watch either, and obviously no mobile phones. What will be next I wonder?
