Good to see everybody playing who was supposed to ; I think the last GP of the last series had a few withdrawals; will be interesting to see how Aronian & Ding play with no pressure
Down to the key players, though, MVL starts with a win and Radjabov with a surprising (to me) 12 move draw with white v Vallejo

Yes, I don't think they are happy twitterAngus French wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2017 4:18 pmOr maybe they don't wish to lend support (if that's the way they see it)... I've tried looking at the boards at the official site (first time I've done that for an Agon event) but you only get the current positions (not the preceding moves) and there's no exchange of comments with other punters.Reg Clucas wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2017 4:06 pmPresumably scared off by Agon? According to the ChessBase site Radjabov did indeed have a 12-move draw but it was with Riazantsev. Maybe a personal friend?
DIng Liren drew with Vallejo, also draws in Tomashevsky-Svidler, Hammer-Harikrishna, Eljanov-Nakamura and Jakovenko-Aronian,
MVL beat Gelfand, Giri beat Rapport and Inarkiev beat Li Chao.

Re: Grand-Prix 2017 Events Venues and Dates confirmed
There's a comment on Chessbomb which says: "on chess-news cite [sic] on right side, after each round shall be posted tab, showing standings in GP as if round was last". For some reason I can't spot this, though the same commentor tells us "thus, on current stage Radja qualifies from 1-st place with 359,4; and Mamed - from second with his 340 pts".

Aronian the first winner of the day against Anish Giri. Svidler-MVL & Riazantsev-Tomashevsky were drawn.
