Rapport stumbles from advantage to defeat against Aronian. Nakamura and MVL draw.

After his game 1 escape Aronian had a more convincing game 2 and won his match 2-0. MVL & Nakamura drew the second and are now playing a two-game blitz match followed (if needed) by an armageddon game.

Are the tiebreak rules actually on the website?

From https://www.gibchess.com/masters
The first prize may not be shared.

In the event of a tie for first place, there shall be a play-off. If there are four or fewer players tied for first place, there will be a speed knock-out play-off for the first prize of £25,000.

If three players tie for first place, the player with the highest performance rating will be seeded directly into the Final of the Play-Off; the other two players will contest the Semi-Final.

If more than four players tie for first place, the four players with the highest performance ratings shall qualify for the play-off to decide the first prize.
It doesn't give the detailed rules for "a speed knock-out play-off"

Yeah, that's what I mean. I got that far easily enough, but that seemed to be all there is.

Game 4 ended in a draw with missed chances on both sides. MVL through 2.5-1.5.

They might want to tell themselves that they still have Wang v Howell in progress
It wouldn't be the first time that a tournament had ploughed ahead with play-offs and discounted unfinished games.
When I went to Gibraltar as a game-inputter, the playoff was played while games were still going on in the room. From memory Irina Krush was playing, and I didn't mind that the game was so long because she has neat handwriting.

They were registered as G/110 + 10" increment.
