Sue Maroroa beat GM Kuzubov (2663) in round 1.

This report: https://chess24.com/en/read/news/prodig ... blues-more details Gawains extreme bad luck in round 2. In an ending of 2 Bishops Vs Knight, Gawain finally won the knight on the 51st move since the last pawn move or capture meaning he only drew the game :cry:

That's not quite what the report says. Jones trapped White's knight, but White claimed a draw under the 50 moves without a capture rule, one move before Jones would have been able to capture it.
