Yup.

Can't say I fancy Tan's chances of getting after a win today.

If it wasn't for the nice stalemate trick after 45.....f4 it could have been worse.

Ju leads 5-4 so Tan must win with black to keep the match going.

You'd have thought that unlikely, but there have been 3 black wins to 2 with white (with only 4 draws, not what we are used to with the men, not sure whether this is more typical with the women's matches)

It could well come down who handles the pressure the best. Ju may yet rue the chances that have come and gone in recent games.

The computer thinks Black is worse after ....e5, and also thought she should have gone for ....d5 (and that White should have pre-empted it with Bf4 and e5). You can see what it's getting at, as you might expect White to be strong on the d-file and the a2-g8 diagonal from here, with Black pawns breaks perhaps doing more harm than good?

Hre we are at the time control, Ju's a pawn up, Tan has no play and no prospect of any and I wonder how much longer she'll string it out for.

And Ju is the new champion. Never a sniff for Tan in the final game.
