Somewhat ironically, after recruiting him to the Wood Green 4NCL team on his return to England in 2016, I circulated an advert for a coaching post in Australia on Facebook. He subsequently applied for and got the job!Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:17 pm
I hadn't realised that Brandon Clarke had ceased to reside in the UK. (I also now see that was the report for 2016-17, submitted August 2017)
"Programme partially completed, but ended when he ceased to reside in the UK. No report received. Achieved his FM title."
Looking into this, I see reports of him playing in Australia, and he came joint 6th in the Australian Championships in January this year (was still ENG registered):

Round 9 underway at 8 am UK timeMick Norris wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 5:09 pmJoe's won his last 2 games to reach 5.5/8
He is black in the final round against a 2260 rated IM; I'm not sure if a win would would be enough for a norm, but he's clearly playing well

Re: Hungary June 2018
At move 37, Joe is better. He should win a pawn at some point, and hopefully in such a way as to take a big step towards winning the game! It is not easy though, and maybe objectively White should be able to draw. Re-reading what was said earlier in the thread, if Joe does win, this would be his third norm (the second only attained a week ago!) and the title once they are both confirmed? So it is win this game to get the title?
EDIT: Oh, chickens not hatching. The position seems to be drawish now a few moves later.

An entertaining, albeit one sided game, from the GM section: https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tourn ... 8-gm/9/1/5
