So far as you can tell, scrutineers look positive for Dvorko.
Do you mean the voting is taking place and you are trying to read the body language of the scrutineers?
How is the voting taking place? Is it a card vote?
We voted for the scrutineers. Judging by who put their hand up for each candidate from the interested parties, and the final totals of those candidates, it looks like it will be a comfortable win for Dvorkovich.

I almost walked in the way of the Dewey-esque photograph of him being announced the winner during the coffee break that had no coffee.

May have been a coffee break, but no coffee or in fact any sustinence at all,
Perhaps not for the hoi poloi but somebody approached the chess.com camerawoman with a cup of coffee and told her there was a cup waiting for her on her chair.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

There was a vote to choose scrutineers, Even though they really are believed to be fair, it may be significant that a Dvorkovich supporter got over 100 votes. A conspicuous Makro supporter got only 60 something.

It is a secret ballot.

ChesscomNews on Twitter: "Turns out the coffee, tea, water and snacks had already been removed by hotel staff. A coffee break without coffee! Well then, let’s get this election party started."

Oh, so the vote for scrutineers is like a (public) preview/exit poll for the actual election, unless people mislead by voting for one candidate in the scrutineer vote and for another in the secret ballot. (Any sign of the vote for Nigel?) When you say secret, is it voting slips that the delegates fold over and put in a box that is opened and counted by the scrutineers, or is it less or more 'high-tech' than that?

[EDIT: The ChesscomNews Twitter stream has good photos.]

I guess more like an entry poll than an exit poll. My feeling is in a FIDE exit poll everyone will have voted for the winner...

Huge round of applause for Dvorkovich as he leaves the podium. His speech included the promise of sponsorship from Renault and Gazprom, and a promise of a $5m per year FIDE budget.

Cheeky start to Nigel's speech as he copies Kirsan's response to the Kasparov/Sinquefeld ticket at a previous election.

Who is actually there in person at the Congress/Assembly/Election, as opposed to watching online?

Lo-tech, seems to work.

First two speeches have been Really good. I wonder of Makro can recover from the double blow of his meltdown over the Kremlin and Zurabs comment about Africa..

Just switched on the video feed... Did Short say he was withdrawing and endorsing Dvorkovich?

Short ended his speech by withdrawing his candidature and endorsed Dvorkovich to a booming round of applause in the room.
