I'm always rather pleased to see these messy and high profile disputes, in the hope that the authorities will finally be persuaded to concede a more sensible method of claiming the draw. Doesn't seem to work, though.

They were in the playing hall when I finished at about 8:30. My game wasn't too far away I didn't pick up on anything unusual going on.
It must have taken quite some time to resolve the dispute.

Any more information about what actually happened in the Howell dispute?

Further kudos to Lancashire FM Glenn House, scalping a strong IM in Mateusz Kolosowski, rated 2448. Of the English contingent only Michael Adams beat a stronger player today. So far Glenn has beaten a GM, lost to World number 6, Anish Giri and beaten an IM. Not too shabby!

Round 4 ties involve various Indians against Adams, Howell, Jones & Williams. Then two stand-out games:

Short - Karjakin
Leko - Gormally

Glenn House picks up GM Dennis Wagner who seems to have found time to play this tournament while managing Huddersfield

Incidentally, this being the IoM, Manx Liberty and all that, where are they - the Manx Liberty GMs?

David Howell is a pawn up, but down to his increment Vs 30 mins for opponent!

The HPBs today would make a decent 4NCL team:

80 4 GM Kramnik Vladimir 2779 3 ½ not paired
81 6 GM Anand Viswanathan 2771 3 ½ not paired
82 10 GM Wojtaszek Radoslaw 2727 3½ ½ not paired
83 21 GM Nabaty Tamir 2692 1½ ½ not paired
84 22 GM Leko Peter 2690 2½ ½ not paired
85 48 GM Tregubov Pavel V. 2588 3 ½ not paired
86 52 GM Kosteniuk Alexandra 2551 2½ ½ not paired
87 123 IM Bellin Robert 2326 1 ½ not paired

David Howell has unfortunately blundered a piece on move 26. Needless to say, he was playing on increments.

A cunning trick but an annoying one for white all the same.
