Richard won today though :)
...and Loz Cooper got out of jail again
It shows what a scrambled state my brain must have been in to not see a glaringly obvious move like g5 coming 2-3 moves after I'd turned down a draw

All working again now, Carlsen v Potkin level at move 21.
But not for that much longer.......

Carlsen - Potkin. Intense. He beats Potkin to climb to 2841 and increase his lead over Caruana to 8.7.

Round 3 board pairings are up and the stand out game is Wojtaszek (2727) - Carlsen (2839) but I think we will all be gutted to see that there will be no quality game from Loz as he not playing for Wood Green today.

You'll be even more gutted to learn that I fly home today and my contribution on the playing front is complete.

That is a great shame. I had no doubt that you were playing yourself into form.

I thought I'd given a timely answer to those who ask why I don't play more

Well done to David - and bear in mind that the position was level at move 54 when David had 32 seconds and Harikrishna 14 minutes 25 seconds. I simply don't understand how he can win so many games playing on increments.

Amazing result for David Howell! Looks like he's been working on his chess! I wager he has passed Adams, this time next year...

Round 4 Board pairings and an interesting game is Carlsen (2839) v Donchenko (2610). The interesting bit is that if, in the unlikely event, that Carlsen loses, Caruana will be the new world number 1.
Another game that could be well worth keeping an eye on is Ding Liren v Svidler. Ding Liren is now unbeaten in 89 games.
