Starts the 30th of August in Hull.

I just checked the starting list, 22 entries . No bad, but organizers prepared the Fantastic Women's Chess Festival.
One weekend, 5 Fide - rated games, tempo 90 min + 30 sec/move, half point for bay is possible, prices for the best girls under 12, under 16, under 20, for the best first time player, for the winners.

Prices for winners - £1200 for the 1st place, £650 for the 2nd, £350 for the 3rd. The winner is also qualify for a place in the English women's team in the 2020 Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia , 1.8.-15.8.2020.

You can see women and girls of all ages and abilities on the starting list, it is really Women's and Girl's Chess Festival in Hull in the excellent playing venue of the Royal Hotel, with capacity more than 100 players.

The last English Women's Chess Championship was in Solihull ( now in Hull ), was great time there, online games on all boards. This next one looks also fantastic, although I think, more of the players still thinks, that this competition is for strong players only. I want to pass the true information. Is really for all of us and a price fund for girls 12, 16, 20 and a first time attendant speaks about it.

We are pleased to host this event in Hull. Hull City Council (who provided significant funding for the British Championships last year) have provided a £2,500 grant (enhanced by Hull and District Chess Association) to fund the excellent venue and to enable a number of additional events. At the congress all participants are invited to a reception on the Friday evening (as games finish until late) and a special BBQ on the Saturday evening at Hull Marina. A large new trophy for the best placed senior woman has also been purchased (to be named The City of Hull Trophy) as well as trophies for three junior age groups (separate local Hull business sponsorship). The John Robinson Youth Chess Trust have kindly provided funding for separate junior coaching during the event (for non congress participating juniors) and for anyone arriving early on the Friday there is a lunchtime session with a talk by Jovanka Houska. As a part of the ECF funding for this event, participants will be able to have their games analysed by Tim Wall and Sean Marsh in the separate analysis room. Alongside the congress, there is a talk by Sean Marsh on the Friday evening and a master@thelocal type event with IM Richard Palliser. So, were YOU watching online the 154 move, 6 or so hour game between Sarah Longson and Toma Katarzyna in the last round?! All three resuts still on between moves 80-100 and possible snap mates thereafter? Deserves to be remembered alongside the last round game between Gawain Jones and Nick Pert in Sheffield 2011.

The whole event sounds as though it was a great success - well done to Stephen and his team.

Yes, I was! Entries were up on last year too; it's good to see the tournament growing in numbers. Hopefully the trend continues.

I mean, people should look it up while they still can. Who among us could swear that he or she, when playing in the sixth hour, on incrememnts, would not have played the plausible 128 ...Ng3 ?

Especially when you consider it was the second game of the day, the first lasting nearly 4 hours in Sarah Longson's case and Katarzyna Toma's a decent 45 moves.
