Worthwhile Susan Polgar article

It’s probably worth a read, especially for parents of chess playing daughters. Susan Polgar isn’t everyone’s cup of tea I suppose because she does an awful lot of self promotion, but she makes some good points here. In particular the value of the support network and having family travel with her to tournaments even in her twenties. There are a lot of creeps out there unfortunately.

I played Susan at Lloyds Bank when she was 13. Her brilliance was clear.

Unless my memory serves me false, I seem to recall she was accompanied by a male trainer. This may have been a perk of the munificent funding available to players in the dying days of European communism.
