Under Starters Orders
Under starters orders. The Union Stage matches in the South East are ready to go - where are you elsewhere? There are three matches tomorrow:
Open: Middlesex v Kent Willesden
U1650 Kent v Middlesex St Mary Cray
U1450 Middlesex v Kent Willesden
It’s good to see both Kent & Middlesex entering teams in the U1450 (née U100) competition. Kent last played at this level in 2016-17 and while Middlesex entered in 2017-18 they withdrew after two matches. There’s a long list of unrated players with estimated ratings on the SCCU website, hopefully an indication that new talent is just around the corner.
They’re already off in the London League which started last week with nine matches and a further eleven this coming week and meanwhile the Central London and the London Public Service Chess Leagues are already in full swing. Some team captains in leagues up and down the land will need to do a lot better entering their results in a timely fashion. Frankly players will be expecting to see their games rated in the monthly rating list.
Here we go!

I don't think captains are the weak link. It's a lack of development of quick and easy methods to send and receive data between non-ECF League Management Systems and the ECF grading system that's the bottleneck.David Gilbert wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 8:16 pmSome team captains in leagues up and down the land will need to do a lot better entering their results in a timely fashion. I have never been told to do anything other than send a .txt file to Matthew Carr, so I shall carry on doing that.Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 8:43 pmI don't think captains are the weak link. Are match results for all the county matches collated somewhere?
