Mostly just no overlap at all. Big grading bands, plenty of players for the bigger counties when there's good organisation.Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 3:39 pmI wonder if the three teams fielding finalists in adjacent grading bands (Kent, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester) were able to deploy different team selection strategies depending on depth of available and eligible players?
U2050 and Open it did have a big effect. Quite volatile grades just now. Yorkshire U2050 could exploit that:
summer 2024 average grade, 1970,
summer 2025 average grade 2025.
GM couldn't really, and the outcome was probably close to par. In fact had GM fielded all their 'U2050' players in the U2050 final it'd have been a 2025 average on both sides. Either team would have been entirely competitive in the minor counties final.
