There is a far greater matter than it being an NCCU final: the importance is that it is a particular pair of NCCU counties!

Really Michael, you make it sound as though they might start a civil war ..

I'm guessing that wasn't entirely greeted with equanimity?
Who cares we absolutely battered them

Union semi-finalists SCCU 10; MCCU 9; NCCU 6; EACU 2; WECU 1.
In other words, more spread out than usual, and the possibility of an all-Northern Open Final for the first time since (? ever?!)
I would think the chances of Lancashire beating Kent (who appear to be trying this year) are virtually non-existent.

I believe 2009 was the last time.

Also Lancs lost the U175 final to Yorks that year.

Is it time yet for a summary of who is through to the finals? Not sure when the remaining semi-finals are due to be played, or if some have been played and not reported yet. I think they should all have been played by 10 June? Maybe some were arranged for a slightly later date?

Nine semi-finals reported and five not yet showing across the seven sections of the competition.

I'll let someone else start a 'Finals Day' thread when all the finalists are known.

A summary for now:

Open Yorkshire/Surrey v Kent/Lancashire
Minor Suffolk v Lincolnshire
U180 Surrey/Devon v Middlesex
U160 Middlesex/Lancashire v Yorkshire
U140 Nottinghamshire v Lancashire/Worcestershire
U120 Middlesex v Essex
U100 Leicestershire v Warwickshire

(N.B. Not all the results above have been confirmed by the competition controller yet.)

I've reliable reports of a very sound win for Yorkshire in our Open semi. We had most of our very top players out (Webb on 5), so I'm not that surprised.

No idea how the Lancs - Kent match went.

Thanks. I've just heard from the Middlesex captain that Devon defeated Surrey 8.5-7.5 in the other U180 SF, so (sadly) no Surrey team in the finals. Will wait for the official site to report the results before updating the summary.
