I've been posting a bit more, with all the politics going on, and I can see I'm going to have to be careful.

I can see my posts might end up in this thread, undergoing grammatical examination!

Just bought a large box of "Biscuits for Cheese" from a well known supermarket in time for Christmas.

The box informs us that it is "A selection of biscuits for cheese to compliment any cheeseboard".

P.S. Just in time for an appropriate Christmas cracker joke.

"An explosion took place at a French Cheese factory this evening - all that's left was de brie."

Shouldn't that be French cheese factory, rather than French Cheese factory?

It was Gouda you to point that out, Tim.

As in English chess forum?

"How should you handle cheese? - Caerphilly."

No - each word of English Chess Forum is capitalised because it is the title of a forum; French cheese factory should not be similarly capitalised unless the factory is called French Cheese or French Cheese Factory, both unlikely constructions.

Emmental. (M N Tal). One of my personal favourites.
"The chess-board is the world ..... the player on the other side is hidden from us ..... he never overlooks a mistake, or makes the smallest allowance for ignorance."
(He doesn't let you resign and start again, either.)

We haven't had the "What cheese is made backwards?" question yet - fortunately.

"It was Gouda you to point that out, Tim."

Only mentioning it because it's the pedantry section, Gouda is pronounced "How-da".
