Very few vaccinated people seem to get that far ( although the figures are of course suppressed ).

Should the patient be treated standing up or would you think to offer them a bed for the night?NickFaulks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 4:56 pmOne per 66 NHS staff. I suppose that would qualify as "overwhelmed".John Upham wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 4:04 pmWhat level of hospitalisations have been agreed as being the trigger point do we think?
20,000 perhaps?
Perhaps a chair would be adequate?
Possibly "Take two aspirins and come and see me in a fortnight"

There are 130,000 NHS beds, even without the Nightingales which were scrapped because they were considered surplus to any imaginable requirements.John Upham wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 5:47 pmShould the patient be treated standing up or would you think to offer them a bed for the night?

Re: Start Date of Next Lockdown?
I've been told this afternoon that Bolton hospital has 1 Covid only ward, which is significantly less than previous peaks, despite case numbers here remaining reasonably high; I think Blackburn hospital, by contrast, is really struggling, and sending patients to other hospitals
It's not the number of beds, of course, it's the number of staff that is key

Nick I can’t let you get away with that lie. This might be what you’ve been used to in Bermuda, but not over here. Do you understand how HES works? HES collects detailed information on every patient journey through the hospital system. Hospitals submit data to NHS Digital who process the information an return it to providers. It’s then used to calculate payments for every aspect of care. Suppressed data would mean hospitals wouldn’t be paid. The Government doesn’t get anywhere near the data, which is publicly available, except as an end user.

That is excellent news, where can I find it?David Gilbert wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 7:36 pmNick I can’t let you get away with that lie. You can try the Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) or NHS Digital websites.

I could try all sorts of things, including FoI requests, but you know as well as I do that I wouldn't find the answer to my question, because it is suppressed. If it were not, you would have told me the answer yourself.David Gilbert wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 7:56 pmYou can try the Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) or NHS Digital websites.

Thanks, but this contains nothing even remotely connected to my question.

Re: Start Date of Next Lockdown?
You did, but you have indicated where we might unearth an answer to a question in which nobody but you has indicated any interest.
David Gilbert has chosen to take the opportunity of your thread to call me a liar, and I would be interested to see how he might back that up. I think he can't.

Nick the 2019/20 Adult Critical Care data is here https://digital.nhs.uk/data-and-informa ... ty/2019-20. I imagine the 2020-21 report will be published in September 2021.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 9:49 pmI could try all sorts of things, including FoI requests, but you know as well as I do that I wouldn't find the answer to my question, because it is suppressed.
