game over: kasparov vs the machine film

Post by AlanLlewellyn » Tue Sep 13, 2022 8:51 pm

so kasparov was playing a human and not deep blue, but they were cheating according to the film and kasparov, has anyone considered theyre may be a human player better than kasparov out there?

they talk a bit about the turk but dont say one of its dwarf players stuck in a box behind was gunsberg who was strong enough to challenge for the world championship against steinitz and he did well.

the film implies with a little evidence that kasparov was attacked by a plot, have you seen the film, John?

At the time Kasparov was the strongest player in the world.
One asset he lost v Deep Blue was his OTB presence.

The reason they don't mention Gunsberg and the Turk was because he worked Mephisto.

I've long felt someone should run the games of that match through one of the engine finder programs. The idea being to prove or otherwise that Deep Blue was a computer.

Geoff so youre not convinced by the film, it suggests a human player with computer assistance was playing him

Hi Alan,

The one reason why some appear upset at your posts is because you are covering old ground.
This site has been on the go for many years so a subject like Deep Blue would have been hammered to dust.

If you type 'Deep Blue' in the search box on the top right. you get 101 mentions the first dating back to 2009.
So the first reaction would be '...not Deep Blue again.'

If you think of a subject to discuss then try a search first to see if it has been mentioned before and maybe add to it.

"have you seen the film, John?"
I have seen the film and am well aware of the issues it raised

i have told the truth it was fischer without assistance of any kind. Fischers actual periods of play were different from the image to protect him, also his games were got to from different openings also to protect him.
