I was thinking to myself recently it seems awfully dead around here and it might be time for Alan to have a second chance as, for all his craziness l he did get us all talking actively about chess which really has not happened for a long while. The permanent ban dished out seems awfully Draconian and out if character from our normally very reasonable moderation team and perhaps now they have had time to reflect on it can agree that it was a step too far and needs to be undone for the good of the form and society in general.
To help illustrate the point I have created a poll so the rest of the forum users can voice their agreement on this, potentially controversial, idea and hopefully that will give a good reading as to what public opinion might be.

Being Back Alan Llewellyn
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

I would suggest that there are valid options apart from your stark suggestions.

Perhaps Joey could take up the baton and entertain us all with a series of meaningless rants.John Upham wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 6:54 amI would suggest that there are valid options apart from your stark suggestions.

Re: Being Back Alan Llewellyn
I thought that Carl Hibbard was incredibly patient with Alan Llewellyn.
Alan Llewellyn is now clogging up the chat on the ECF events on Chess.com. He has claimed that he was banned from here because he successfully impersonated Bobby Fischer and defeated Nigel Short in 2001.
I would be strongly opposed to allowing him back on here.

There was a lot of complaints and both warnings and communication with Alan but all without success.Joey Stewart wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 1:09 amThe permanent ban dished out seems awfully Draconian and out if character from our normally very reasonable moderation team and perhaps now they have had time to reflect on it can agree that it was a step too far and needs to be undone for the good of the form and society in general.
I am not sure this poll is even appropriate so I am closing it off.
Cheers
