A typo for "don't"? It was certainly a historic result.

Only historic if you believed the media and pollsters, the majority got it wrong again; some people say it is better to have Trump instead of the incompetent Harris, but we only can wait to see what the future brings

I don't imagine it will be much good for anyone really, apart from maybe Elon musk, guess there's still time to buy some Tesla shares to passively cash in on the result (I've got a fairly good feeling that company are going to be getting some "preferential" treatment in the next few years)

Pollsters mostly said it would be close - and it was; Trump will end up about 1-2 points ahead nationally compared to many forecasts of around that for Harris. Which isn't actually a massive error really.

The BBC is currently saying it's 50.9% Trump vs. 47.5% Harris with 3 results to come - and possibly some votes to be counted in states which have declared?

You wrote that before knowing about the increase in the Tesla share price?

It just made a lot of sense, musk attached himself to trump's campaign in quite a public way and he's not the sort of guy who is going to spend all that time and money out of the goodness of his heart - trump is known for rewarding his "friends" and musk saw it as a great opportunity to have a few presidential favours to be able to call in on wherever he needs a law or two changed in his favour so once the result was assured the markets piled in on it - it will probably go up further in months to come, although at £300 a share they are a bit of a pricey purchase for anyone without huge wads of spare cash to invest.

Yes, most of the votes - a few million - still to count are in the west coast states which are (even in this election) Democrat leaning.

Before you rush to invest in Tesla, you might read Reuters report at https://www.reuters.com/business/autos- ... 024-10-28/.

The experts may be right, but they were saying similar things five years ago, when the share price was $22.

Fair comment. Reality is that no-one knows for sure. If they did, Tesla shares would either soar further or plummet.

With the %s it's like Brexit all over again.
