No, in my experience it's much easier to become 200 grade at chess

The best way to compare your strengths in golf and chess would be to look at your percentile ranking in each of them. A 2250-rated player might be in the xth percentile in terms of chess strength, where a -6 golfer might be in the yth percentile of golfing ability. (Golf pun alert) That seems to be a fair way of comparing the two.

Ben Hogan said in his famous book Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf , that with proper instruction he could teach an average golfer to play to scratch or play level par golf (for the course).
Would that be possible in chess, say Andrew Martin teach me to get to 200.
