1) Shouldn't this be in the "Not Chess!" section?

2) We aren't *all* monarchists, you know

3) Even if we are, why should we go along with this enforced jollification regarding two people we (almost certainly) don't know and never will?? Especially when some of us can remember the similar occasion three decades ago - and how it was far from the "fairy tale" sold to us plebs at the time........

See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-13091768 I don't remember the 1981 wedding (my mother was pregnant with me at the time) but my impression is that William and Kate are much better matched than Charles and Diana ever were, not least by having an age gap of a few months rather than more than a decade.

Probably going a little off current topic, but we are off to celebrate with a party in our village. They have organised a barbie, fete, bouncy castles and a live band to top it off in the evening.

Who knows, we might even let the kids have their chance (if they can push us adults off) on the bouncy castles!

The weather says 'rain' so it should be interesting...
