OK, who has managed to get some Olympic tickets? Not me, for one.

I got some the second time around. Four tickets for athletics (hammer throwing, sack-race and conkers, IIRC) and two lots of three for boxing. However it looks likely that I will be donating my athletics ticket to my young nephew as his family didn't get any. It was a stupid system for allocating tickets, both for the first and second rounds, and only Visa for payment was just ticking the pass.

I got a ticket for the football final in the first round of allocations. Somewhat surprised that I didn't get one for the pistol shooting (which I applied for simply because the venue is just round the corner from my home). Must be more shooting enthusiasts out there than I'd realised. Not so surprised that my applications for various athletics finals failed.

Don't forget that the new Olympic venues will be tested before the Olympics proper. I'm going to an international basketball match in August this year to see the new basketball arena in the Olympic Park. Not the real thing but sometimes one has to use one's imagination when reality falls short.
