Seeing that another thread dealt with Card Tricks, I thought one dealing with Incantations worth a try.

Incantation for Accessing the Recovery Partition of an Old Dell.

Consult the Oracle. Boot the Computer and press <Ctrl><F11>. On failure, consult the Oracle again. Boot the Computer and press <Ctrl><F11>. Repeat as many times as it takes to learn that you have fat fingers and are stupid (officially).

Consult better Oracles. For instance, this one.

The correct incantation:
Switch off and disconnect all but the power cable from the Dell. Press power button and hold down for 5 seconds. Connect monitor, keyboard and mouse. Reboot. Press F2 to enter BIOS Menu. Disable booting through USB Devices via the Onboard Devices menu. ESC. Save/Exit.
Reboot. <Ctrl><F11>.

The gods are pleased with their faithful servant and the PC shall recover.
