Never watched a minute it. However the Red Arrows flew low over Edinburgh Castle
trailing red, white and blue smoke. That was very impressive.

Of course I'd have more impressed if they flew in circles and created the Olympic Rings.
Cant they do that. How hard can it be?

Overall, I thought we were way better than China.

I did not get 'the Industrial Revolution' bit. It was the most boring subject in history and what did it have to do with the Olympics or anything in general?

Mr Bean and 'Bond with Queen' were really good. Liked the medley of music, but would have preferred it to have been done chronologically with a bit more Beatles and generally more popular music.

Loved the bit at the end with the copper pots etc - nice that they passed 'the baton' to the juniors.

I think that Team GB should have had 'We are the Champions' being played when they marched in...:)

PS David Beckham looked good didn't he?

Yes, the Industrial Revolution has little to do with the Olympics - but a great deal with how Britain became the country that it is.

Boring?? Anything but.......

I watched it in the pub. I was rather merry throughout and although initially baffled by the whole theme and chronology (drink really must have had an effect) I really enjoyed it by the end. We even made a sport out of guessing the next nation out of the tunnel...
highlights for me were Mr Bean and Bond dropping off Queenie by parachute!

A keen-eyed viewer might have noticed some of the the best bits: the Japanese team mistakenly being led straight out the exit and the Indian team having an interloper.
