Has anyone seen this story?
This schoolgirl is facing expulsion and possible criminal charges? For having a sense of adventure and curiosity, and for doing an experiment that I'm sure I probably did as a kid, too? Aluminium and sodium hypochlorite, releasing hydrogen gas?
The United States of America is finished. All intelligence has been flushed down the khazi, cretinism is the norm. Unbelievable.

Re: Mindbogglingly fuckwitted bureaucracy
Of course she was treated terribly - she's black in Florida, a state that routinely denies the black population even basic human rights (e.g. voting).
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

Re: Mindboggling bureaucracy
Simply because it is the same country (USA), this has reminded me of the documentary I saw last night called "12-year-old Lifer", about children aged 12 who were convicted of murder in the USA and are serving adult sentences.

Re: Mindboggling bureaucracy
This is nothing new, just another example of idiocy. School children doing things like dropping litter in the playground are charged with a crime in the USA. Sad really.

Re: Mindboggling bureaucracy
Aged 13 I once received lines and had to write
Aged 13+ I was awarded my D.Phil. in Chemical Physics for a thesis entitled
"Monte Carlo Simulation of Cluster Ion Fragmentation Peak Shapes"
A custodial sentence for the initial offence may well have been appropriate and taught me a valuable lesson.
Clearly some countries are more developing than we were led to believe.
100 times.I must not do unauthorised experiments in the chemistry laboratory

The USA is authoritarian in a way that even the Third Reich wasn't. And the authority is exercised by cretins with IQs the wrong side of 90. I need to get back to civilisation.Paul McKeown wrote:The United States of America is finished. All intelligence has been flushed down the khazi, cretinism is the norm. Unbelievable.
