One that has a profound effect on the game. For example - a non-critical mistake might be winning a pawn when you could have won a piece, failing to see that you could have played a strong move on the move before you actually played it - these might be annotated "?" - but a critical mistake would normally get a "??" - eg castling into an unstoppable attack, letting the opponent win your queen and so on

What does 'class' mean?
Professsional chess players consider a Grandmaster to be a "class" better than a Grandmaster with 50 fewer rating point.

Yes. But as always some more details would help.
Options are often about what we would like. For example, if you have the option of a closed game or an open game you would not be thinking about which is better but rather about which sort of game you enjoy playing. Possibilities are more likely to be about moves or plans that might work but need to be looked at in more detail. They might be good and they might be bad.

protected d-pawn, I shall provide my f8-bishop with more scope, and my rooks on the b- and c-files
will have excellent options.
The b-file is quite important, so I should restrict all possible play on any other part of the
board with 22 ... d4, denying White any options in the centre and on the kingside.
my f3-knight does not really have any other promising options
White has a lot of options:[...],[..][These two contiuations]
I think that I should keep the option of the e5 advance open.
18 l:td2 and l:tadl is another option
The simple 22 Rc1 retains all my options

Well in this the word possibility is not used, so he is no making any distinction. In answer to your original question I think option is used because each of the 'options' are good moves. A 'possibility' would suggest it might be good but probably needs more analysis to be sure.
