Am I elligible to coach?

Post by soheil_hooshdaran » Mon Dec 07, 2015 12:52 pm

Hello.
I am going to USA and gonna settle in Pleasanton, CA. I have a training certificate for the Iranian chess federation and have won many awards in Iran. Can I give chess lessons in the US? Seems that there is no chess coach in Peasanton, CA

Presumably that depends on the terms of your visa and whether you can find any potential students. I don't believe the USCF has much, if any, say over who is or is not a chess coach or trainer.

These matters were discussed in detail at the recent and excellent London Chess Conference. Two days of high quality speakers from each continent. The training of chess teachers and coaches plus accredited certification schemes were debated. Kevin O'Connell grabbed my attention especially.

John - were there really 'quality speakers from each continent'? Was Antarctica represented by a well known penguin?

Yes, and pitifully he seems to have a descend chance.............

If Trump ever had a decent chance it is certainly descending due to his recent declamations.

No, because of his better personality than Hillary Clinton.

Rather depends on how you define "better", really......

Well, he certainly has more personality than Hilary. Better or worse is another matter.

In any case just as in Tarrasch's "Before the endgame the gods have placed the middle game" so in US politics before the presidential elections there are the Democratic and Republican conventions. Hilary must be favourite for the Democratic nomination but I can't see the Republicans nominating Trump.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.
