Need to find someone who'll score exactly 2 points, then get injured for the season.

Couldn't you substitute someone in for one or more games to score the 2 points, and then substitute him out again, or are you trying to achieve the 0 with the minimum amount of substitutions?

I'm not sure how I managed to get into second with my injured forward line causing a switch to a defensive 5-4-1 formation, but an inspired switch of captain at the last minute certainly helped.

WEEK 6 RESULTS

What a scorcher! Gareth Harley-Yeo is hot, hot, hot at the top. His top-dog score of 79 leaves him 24 points ahead of the rest of the field led by John Garnett. On the move is Joe Friar, now tucked-in at 7th up ten places with a big 78.

Graham Mill-Wilson's grubby little 12 is the rubbish score of the week, while Richard Bates' not-much-better 15 takes him to 228, one short of his ECF grade! So close!

At the bottom Barcelona are fighting their way out of trouble, but Jim Friar, Simon Brown, Kevin Williamson and Chris Cantrill all consolidate their positions at the wrong end of the table

WEEK 7: HEADLINES

A terrible scoring week, but leader Gareth Harley-Yeo top scores for a second week, albeit with a moderate 56 extending his overall lead to 39 points.

Meanwhile this week’s two bidet showers go to Mark Leonard and Chris Cantrill with a mediocre 20.

At the bottom Simon Brown’s alluring Laurelei take over the wooden spoon position, with jim friar improving into the plastic fork placing.

Controversy this week when rumour spread like wildfire that Ben Edgell had walked out of the August Premier Chess League meeting, but it turn out that he wasn’t there in the first place.

“This is a real cat and carrot situation” - Another gem from David Pleat

WEEK 8: HEADLINES

The Harley-Yeo bandwagon rolls on, but Matthew Lunn reduces his advantage to 18 points.

A momentous 86 from Alan Tate means his Shile of Pite comes up smelling of roses this week. Alan moves up 14 places to 15th.

It had to happen sooner, rather than later. Mike Lamb does what he does best and his 19 is this week's hamster's armpit.

Huge excitement at the bottom with the last three covered by just two points - a nice 63 from Simon Brown lifts him out of the wooden spoon, a position retaken by jim friar.

WEEK 9 HEADLINES

The iTeam hold on, but their lead has narrowed down to five points as Barry Redburn’s Peregrinewellies close in.

And those Peregrinewellies are up from seventh as they hit a massive 98 top score, thanks largely to captain Suárez.

It was a big scoring week for most teams, but bow your head in shame chris cantrill. A wee 20 for your throw away camping toilet collection.

And that brings us to the bottom where chris cantrill takes over in the wooden spoon position, with Simon Brown left holding the plastic fork.

Matthew Payne in a late joiner in Week 9. His Anfield Attackers start in 30th place.

There's only one person gets you sacked and that's the fans - Paul Merson

WEEK 10 Headlines (you can hardly wait?)

Another storming week for Barry Redburn as he overtakes long time leader Gareth Harley-Yeo and moves an astonishing 42 points clear.

A stunning 87 top score for Barry for the second week capped by a brilliant management decision to take the captain’s armband from Suárez and handing it to Agüero netting 36 points.

Doing it wrong for a second week in succession and winning the Armitage Shanks Trophy outright it’s chris cantrill with a stuck flush 30.

So chris cantrill consolidates his position at the lowest point of the League with jim friar holding a solid plastic fork, while Simon Brown moves out of the bottom two.

Not only did I have to suffer a horrendous 4-1 team loss on Tuesday, including a personal defeat but then Barry Redburn came over and gave me a glowing description of his managerial prowess to date.

I'm shedding grading points like autumn leaves; I'm 122 points behind Barry in the Fantasy Football - things can only get better. Can't they? :(

I seem to have an excellent team on paper, but they only ever score 3 points each on average (it feels like). It doesn't help when half my team always manages to somehow end up playing against the other half, so I have my attackers facing my defenders or something similar. It should only happen a few times a season but it doesn't feel like it at the moment!

Look at the bright side. In the other Fantasy Football, I managed to lose to Ben Edgell's team in the week when all of his good players weren't playing (they had a bye week).

"But he was a player that hasn’t had to use his legs, even when he was 19, because his first two yards were in his head” - Glenn Hoddle (who else?)

WEEK 11 HEADLINES

Those Peregrinewellies remain at the top for a second week as Richard Beach, Richard Pert, Peter Musgrove and (I know!) David Gilbert all pass a recoiling Gareth Harley-Jones.

The Mighty Haddocks top score with a massive 93. Up from 21st to 5th - time to lace-up my favourite trousers

There were some smelly scores this week, but none worse than a toilet brush 18 from hat-trick achieving chris cantrill and his killer-ball XI.

No change among the bottom three, but the trice worse performer, chris cantrill, is firmly fixed at the bottom, while jim friar remains in the plastic fork position. Simon Brown stays just clear of the bottom two (his expertise in the transfer market obviously paying off!)

"That's an old Ipswich move - O'Callaghan crossing for Mariner to drive over the bar" - John Motson

WEEK 12 HEADLINES

Barry Redburn hangs on to the top position, but the chasers are coming (including those smokin’ Haddocks!)

Hold your bat high Mr Grant Bucher, our first century maker of the season. Turner and Huth move up from ninth to second. Also a mention for Dave Ledger for a stunning 98 that would have top scored in any other week. He moves up 16 places.

It’s back to potty training for Graham Mill-Wilson as his Wotnorooney? can only muster a paper-thin 17. Hopeless!

At the bottom chris cantrill is now 83 points adrift of jim friar. But fear not, because last year’s disaster team the Dancing Monkey has joined the fray. It’s not over until the fat primate does a jig.

WEEK 13 HEADLINES

Barry Redburn's lead is cut to 28 points as Richard Beach returns to the number two spot.

Top score prize is shared between Craig Hanley and kishan pattni with a medium 79.

This week's instant drain cleaner is luke cavanaugh's lc fifavids with a flush 15.

At the wrong end of the table jim friar moves out of the bottom two and his place is taken by Mike Lamb who joins chris cantrill to complete the dysfunctional duo.

“So different from the scenes in 1872, at the cup final none of us can remember” - John Motson (he sounds like a monkey getting in a hot bath)

WEEK 14 HEADLINES

What a mid-week hum-dinger!! Nine teams scoring centuries. That must be a League record? If you had young Mr Suárez in your team as captain he alone scored 48 points.

Barry Redburn’s Peregrinewellies remain top, but there’s now a big pack closing in led by Richard Beach, Grant Bucher, Joe Friar and Peter Musgrove, all century makers.

Top score, a massive 117 from Graham Ives must be a League record. Brilliant! It moves his SignalinNoise up to 9th from 16th.

In a week of high scores, nine centuries and eight teams in the nineties, what happened in the world of Alex Bullen? Bullen’s Bashers ended up with a putrid 13 and are this week’s plastic toilet seats.

The Bashers drop into the plastic fork position joining chris cantrill’s killer-ball in the bottom two.
