Short note that I will be removing James Friar's second team (one team per person) which has appeared this week.

thanks to the board member for the message that there are two James Friars - am making enquiries! The names have now been changed to "James Friar" and "Jim Friar" - so as reported to me these are teams run by James Friar snr and jnr!

Can't you get Sabrina to change the name of her team to - Pussyfeet?

I'm top of the league for 2 weeks running, and this thread dries up - typical! :(

Is David Gilbert on holiday or have there been no amusing quotes yet? Despite my poor start I want to read David's posts!...

As Dave Bassett put it “It’s been two ends of the same coin”. I posted the first week's scores and surveyed for watchers. There was little interest. Only two people said they actually read the posts (you would make three), so writing the nonsense I've been putting out every week is a bit of a waste of time.

A shame you didn't see my post before yours:

I liked reading David's posts and I don't even take part in the league!

I, too, enjoy not taking part and also enjoy reading this thread, particularly David Gilbert's running commentary.
There is of course a rival 'football' thread but I find the jargon there impenetrable so I'm having trouble following NFL developments.

I enjoyed reading the posts when I wasn't in the league and that was my main motivation to join. I'm sorry I wasn't more supportive earlier.

"Belgium are outside dark favourites to win the group" - Iain Dowie

Okay - by popular demand - it's back!

WEEK 4

This week's top swing goes to Siddharth Swaroop's annihilationism with a fast peddling 79.

At the top Gareth Harley-Yeo's iTeam trundle on, 17 points ahead of nearest rival Lawrence Cooper's Wengerboys.

With the bottom bracket it's Mitchell Burke's E4 Effort with a three-wheeler 25.

On the rear mud-guard it's the fast improving Mahmud Hasan who's 65 points this week closes the gap on Simon Brown and Jim Friar. The wooden spoon and the plastic fork beckon.

Ben Edgell is still playing - I think.

“The Liverpool players are passing the cup down the line like a new born baby.... although when they are back in the dressing room they will probably fill it with champagne......something you should never do to a baby” - Alan Parry on the stuff you can't do to little ones any more

WEEK 5 HEADLINES

The iTeam hold on at the top with Evesham Wanders and Oxted Royals closing the gap in second and third.

Matthew Lunn’s Oxted Royals top score with super 84.

Alex Bullen takes away the cardboard bit in the middle of the toilet roll with a rubbish 19.

The excitement at the bottom of the league gets worse. Jim Friar enjoys last place as Mahmud Hasan and Simon Brown fly-by.

Beyond that Ben Edgell's nil points is two less than he needs to break even. Yawn!
