Hi.
How to check if a bank account belongs to a legal/real individual in England?

It must belong to some entity, otherwise it would not exist at all. Are you trying to find out whether it belongs to the person you are being told it belongs to?

I have account details they (a company) gave me bacxk in 2013. Now I want to check if the account still belongs to them, or has it been relegated to some other entity since 2013.

Details for a typical British bank account will consist of a six digit code which gives the name and location of the bank and an eight digit number which is the account number.

Accounts will either be active or not. There are not circumstances where a bank account is transferred to an unconnected entity. You should just ask whoever it is you are paying to confirm their account details.
