Irritatingly, the U160 match today finished 8-8 between G Man and Notts, who fought back from 2 down with 3 to play to very nearly win the match

I would have been happier losing than drawing, given the way the tiebreak is being interpreted

Ooooh, do we have a nonmonotonicity situation on our hands? Do tell.

The Rule is:
If two teams in the same zone tie, the winner of the tie shall be the winner of the match played between the two teams involved.
In the event of that match having been a tie, the result shall be resolved in favour of the team with the best percentage of aggregate score against the other teams in the same zone ignoring all the scores of a county which has defaulted over half its matches.
In the event of this calculation not resolving the tie then the result of the tied match between the two teams shall be broken by use of the board count rule, and if still equal the elimination rule shall apply until the scores are unequal.

Match was a tie, but G Man would have won on board count, not that it matters

Table and results are here:

Staffordshire Terriers win Midlands under-120 Team Championship with a convincing win away over Worcestershire. For full details see http://www.mccu.org.uk/cm11-12/u120/u120.htm

Ray

You might want to note on the MCCU website that in the U120, Warks qualify as M3

Mick, Thanks again! I've highlighted Warks u120 on the u120 page and added them to the national page. Ray

I think you have copied and pasted the dates from last year, as the Preliminary round is due on April 28

G Man play Cambs at u160 - date and venue to be agreed

Bolton Team Jamboree is April 28th so we might want to avoid that date
