ECF Reporting Cycle Modification?

I am informed (by Roger) that the ECF LMS reports results to the ECF rating database on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of each month.

It is possible to modify this reporting schedule?

We had a match reported on the 29th of January which will presumably get sent to the rating database on the 7th of February.

I myself reported the ECF Girls events in Bramley on the 30th and 31st of January and were showing on the rating database on February 1st.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a plan in place to harmonise the use of "ratings", "gradings", "grader", "Rating officer" and other permutations. These terms are being employed not only in the same paragraphs but in the same sentences. This would certainly help to make the documentation easier to comprehend.

It would appear that it is good practise to manually commit results added to the ECF LMS between the 28th of each month and the end of that month whenever that might be.

Hopefully, that way all results will be committed to the rating database for the preceding rating period.

Can I take this opportunity to clarify the dates/times that auto rating takes place. As most of you will know, rating files are auto submitted on the 7th/14th/21st/28th of each month.

However, some people are under the misapprehension that if they enter a result on one of these dates then this is when it will get sent for rating. This is not true as the rating files are actually auto submitted at 03:30 on these dates. So if you enter a result at any time after this it will not be auto rated until the next scheduled date. Your alternative is to do an immediate manual submission.

For those if you who are not aware of how to do this, select the Reports tab at the top of your LMS home page, followed by ECF Reports and then Auto Rating.

From here you just use the Resubmit button next to the relevant rating file.

That the time deadline is 3.30 am is useful to know. Is it also 3.30 am on the first of the month when the official ratings are published?

I'd have thought accuracy was more important than speed; a match result was posted in the Manchester Legaue last night with the wrong player on board 2, as was fortunately obvious from looking at the match card; some captains are very difficult to get to verify results when posted by the opposition, let alone actually post the match result

It doesn't really matter about the 7th, 14th, or 21st, these are nice to have; I can see that the 28th does, as it is the end of the month, but again, as ALex has posted elsewhere, this is far better than the pre-LMS system

The key point here is that the sooner a result is posted, the quicker errors can be fixed. The seven day cycle gives further opportunities notice issues, this time within the rating system rather than LMS. The objective is to be accurate at month end.

My main reason for posting is that Steve Emmerton has corrected the overnight timing. The run is scheduled at 2pm but can move about a bit, midnight is the safer target. Something submitted after the cut off can be accepted but will not be included in the overnight rating calculations.
