Hastings grading year

Post by Roger de Coverly » Fri Dec 27, 2019 11:49 am

Which grading years will the Hastings events be included in?

The Xmas takes place exclusively in 2019, whilst the Weekends take place in 2020. The Masters and the New Year span both years.

I had an impression they no longer kept the 2019 books open waiting for the Masters to complete, but I might be wrong.

Isn't the December 2019 ECF grade as converted going to be used for the new Elo style monthly calculations?

The rules are explicit - "Note that a congress which spans two six-month periods will not be split. It will go entirely, for grading purposes, into the second period." (http://www.ecfgrading.org.uk/new/menu.php, then select Help and 1. The Grading Season)

Matt Carr, the Grading Administrator, is on site and can advise if approached. While the wording is as quoted by Ian, our recent approach has been to split the grading period at Hastings depending on the date of completion of the event within the congress.

Where players have grades, the January list will be the conversion list for new style grades.

I expect they all go into the Feb 2020 list. FIDE.
All my London Chess Classic are showing in the tentative Jan 2020 list. FIDE.

I expect all of these London Chess Classic games will be in the Jan ECF list.

Enjoy Hastings and do not worry too much about the new monthly trial conversions in 2020.

Yes, I also expect the Hastings FIDE events will go into the Feb 2020 list.

I have just been onto FIDE.com to check. Selecting Ratings then Tournaments, followed by England as the country and they appear under February 2020.
