Grade used in June/July/August 2009?

I have a quick question for anyone that knows:

As the end of the grading season was 31st May 2009 and the new grading list will be finalised by the end of August 2009: if someone plays a game in June/July/August 2009, which of their grades is used for grading calculations the following year in July 2010 - the 2008-2009 grading (red 'new grade') or the grade from end of August 2009?

The August 2009 one. But if you play a junior and they keep their "throw away junior grades" idea, you won't know what the grade was/is until July 2010 even if you've played them in the British Championships.
