Formerly Chess Endgame study sub-editor of the British Chess Magazine, and co-author with John Beasley of the classic book Endgame Magic, died earlier today. According to his friend Brian Stephenson "He was a kind and gentle man and must have been a great teacher [at King's College Taunton]." John Beasley has posted a tribute and discusses two of his studies.
